It is with great honor that Irrelevant Week announces that Brock Purdy, a Quarterback from Iowa State is Mr. Irrelevant XLVII.

Purdy, a quarterback originally from Queen Creek, AZ, had a tremendous career while at Iowa State. First-Team All-Big 12, Purdy broke his own school record and led the Big 12, and ranked fifth nationally in completion percentage with 71.7. He finished his incredible career owning/sharing 32 school records including the winningest QB in school history with a 30-17 record. With 46-straight starts, Purdy owns virtually all career school passing records: passing yards (12,170), total offense (13,347), touchdown passes (81), touchdowns responsible (100), completions (993), passing efficiency (151.1), and completion percentage. (67.7)

On Saturday, Purdy was playing the waiting game along with his family in Arizona. When he got the call, the room went electric. "I felt such a relief knowing that I had a home and an opportunity to play in the NFL. This has been a lifelong dream. I'm at a loss for words but I'm so excited."

Brock was drafted #262 by the San Francisco 49ers, which has a special place in the Irrelevant Week family. "My father, Paul, the founder of Irrelevant Week played for the 49ers in his career. He always enjoyed being a part of that community and to be able to welcome Brock into the 49er family feels really special," said Melanie Salata Fitch, CEO of Irrelevant Week.

Over the past 46 years, Irrelevant Week has become a much-anticipated and beloved celebration honoring football’s underdog, while also making charitable contributions to the community. In fact, Irrelevant Week has donated more than $1 million to charities over the past four decades. Previous beneficiaries include SPIN - Serving People in Need, and the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation among others.
